There are mornings when I do not need new answers.
I need to remember Who goes before me, what has already been given, and how to take the next step without carrying what is not mine to carry.
This reflection doesnโt pretend suffering is simple or that every battle makes sense in the moment. Grief, despair, and unanswered questions are real, and there will be time to explore them more deeply as we journey together.
This is not about pretending things are easier than they are.
It is about how we stand when the road ahead includes giants, and how God meets us there.
God will fight our battles
They may seem large.
Roadblocks pop up.
Bad news may come.
Giants may appear.
Yet God will fight our battles.
But that does not mean
we watch from afar,
eating popcorn, laid back.
Nor are we armchair quarterbacks,
telling Him what to do.
We are to armor up:
Helmet of salvation
Breastplate of righteousness
Belt of truth
Shoes ready to share the Good News
Sword of the Spirit, His Word
Shield of faith in hand
to thwart the darts of our enemy
And then we stand.
But we do not stand alone.
The God of Angel Armies
sends angels to flank us.
And then we pray.
We bow.
We praise.
We give thanks.
We pray for ourselves,
our families,
our friends.
We pray for those in need,
those in charge.
We pray for strength,
for change,
for peace.
He fights for us.
He gives us everything we need.
It may not feel like it.
but feelings are not truth.
We follow Him, step by step.
We are not alone.
We are not in charge.
But we do have a part:
To remember all He has done for us,
all He has given us.
That the Cross is enough.
Salvation.
Righteousness.
Truth.
The Good News.
His written Word.
The Living Word.
The Spirit.
Faith so powerful
that even a tiny bit
can protect us from the enemyโs
arrows tipped with fear.
And when the battle grows fierce
Step by step we follow Him,
eyes on Him,
moving where He moves,
resting when He rests,
not carrying what is not ours to carry.
Never alone.
Until we are free.
